Welcome to work in progress

Have you ever actually seen a turtle crossing the road? It’s no accident.Turtles know where they are going.

Traveling against the odds of shell-smashing disaster, oblivious to speeding tires, they are homing. Returning to the pond, following the path of least resistance to their source. Food. Water. Sunlight. By design eons old, carrying their architecture on their backs, turtles are hardwired to retrace the footpath of their ancestry. Back to their origin. To mate. To reproduce. To live.

On the open road of the internet, we are told there are an estimated 440 million blog sites. Such mind-boggling traffic. So many speeding tires. So many turtles. Why follow? And where to?

If you are a writer, an artist, a musician, a dancer, a dreamer, a builder of a body of work you call your own, then you already know. Call it the persistence of the reptilian creative mind (I breathe, therefore I write.) Or call it an act of faith. Turtles all. Crossing the road.
